Но потом, видимо, приходит в себя и катит к Ване и стоит так робко, улыбается стеснительно, опускает глазки... я просто таю, когда вижу, как сильна у них любовь "неприязнь"

He said Evan was the 1st one to hug and comfort him after he withdrew from 2003 Nationals (at backstage passage). At 2003 US Nats, Evan told Johnny "you'll be OK soon, and next year you'll be great"
Eglinton: Johnny said, "This is one nice thing you'll get about Evan from me. Beccause I got a standing ovation after I withdrew - God only knows why - there were flowers and stuff. I was leaving the building before the event was even over because I didn't have to do doping. Evan was in an earlier group and he was standing backstage and I was walking out. I was a mess. I was all glazed over. I couldn't do anything. I was just kind of paralyzed. I had my suitcase with my skates and all my bags with the toys and flowers and stuff. I was completely alone and just walking through the back hallway. I remember Evan came up and he was the first person to hug me after all that happened. He said, 'You know, it will be okay. Next year you'll be great.' And he was right, I did great the next year. I remember that. I never held him in higher esteem. No matter how many times I lose to him or how many times he loses to me, and whatever courses our lives take, I'll always think of him from then. That wasn't even sportsmanship; that was just a loving person. To do that sort of thing and be my competitor. He could have sat back on the couch and laughed at me. And I know a lot of people did. he just gave me a hug and said everything would be okay."
